Photographing Professor Jimmy Choo at the Jimmy Choo Academy, Hanover Square, Mayfair
I recently had the incredible opportunity to photograph and film Professor Jimmy Choo during a visit to the Jimmy Choo Academy in Hanover Square, Mayfair. As someone who has long admired his influence in the fashion world, it was a real privilege to document his time at the Academy as he reviewed and engaged with the students’ final pieces. It was inspiring to see such talent and creativity on display. Students presented their work to Professor Choo, gaining valuable insights and feedback from one of the industry’s most respected figures, and it was great to capture these authentic moments, the interactions, the focus, and the artistry behind each collection.
In addition to the photography, I also produced a promo film to showcase the Academy. This included a series of interviews with lecturers and students, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the Academy’s vision, its creative ethos, and the ambition. The newly established space in the heart of Mayfair is a perfect blend of style and functionality, designed to support the next generation of designers, creatives and entrepreneurs. My focus was to bring the building and its energy to life through a clean, editiorial-style film that reflect the Academy’s modern approach.
It was an honour to be part of such a dynamic project, working with Jimmy Choo again, and contributing to its visual identity as it builds a new legacy in London’s fashion scene.
